Aqiqah Qurban
"For the child, there is an Aqiqah. Sacrifice an animal for him and remove the harm from him."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 2836)
Aqiqah Qurban is a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (٬للهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَمَ), performed as an act of gratitude for the blessing of a newborn child. It involves the sacrifice of an animal, symbolizing devotion to Allah and compassion for humanity. This act embodies the values of thankfulness, care, and charity deeply rooted in our faith.
The Prophet Muhammad (٬للهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَمَ) said:
"For the child, there is an Aqiqah. Sacrifice an animal for him and remove the harm from him."
(Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 2836)
Performing Aqiqah reflects the parents' gratitude to Allah while sharing blessings with those in need.
The Aqiqah sacrifice is traditionally performed on the seventh day after the child’s birth. If circumstances delay it, it remains a noble Sunnah and can be performed later. As narrated by Aisha (RA):
"The Messenger of Allah (٬للهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَمَ) commanded us to slaughter two sheep for a boy and one for a girl."
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 3163)
At Infaq, we uphold the Islamic guidelines of Qurban, ensuring the process is conducted with utmost sincerity. The fresh meat is distributed to Qur'an students and families facing financial hardships, allowing you to extend the joy of your newborn to others in need.
We value transparency and trust. Once your Qurban is performed, a video of the sacrifice is shared via WhatsApp within three days, ensuring you witness the fulfillment of your Aqiqah.
Performing Aqiqah is not just an act of worship but also a means of spreading blessings and aiding those in need. The Prophet Muhammad (٬للهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَمَ) said:
"The best of deeds are those that bring happiness to a believer."
(Musnad Ahmad)
Furthermore, it is a reminder of the blessings of Allah upon the family and a way to teach the value of giving. As the Quran says:
"So eat of them and feed the poor and the needy." (Surah Al-Hajj: 36)
This act not only strengthens our gratitude but also nurtures the bonds within our community.
